-The salary for this position is determined in mutual consultation and based on education and experience. This concerns a full time function for two years.
-Extensive experience with DNA or mutation analysis is a prerequisite to qualify for this position.
Scholarship Description: The research section of the department of medical genetics focuses on the identification and understanding of the genetic basis of human disease. There are several research groups studying different diseases such as schizophrenia, diabetes, congenital defects and cardiovascular disorders. In our group, we make use of state-of-the-art next-generation sequencing (NGS) technology.Genomic enrichment in combination with NGS techniques will be used to detect all types of genetic variants – CNVs, structural variation, indels and SNPs – in pre-selected genomic regions that could be causal to the disease. iii) Implementation of NGS technology in routine clinical diagnostics. While short-term focus will be on targeted discovery of causal genetic variation, the longer-term agenda provides major challenges regarding personal genomics application.
