College Scholarships in Neural code at University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis and CNRS

College Scholarships in University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis and CNRS Offers Postdoctoral Position Fellowship in France Scholarships 2011

Study Subject(s): Neural code
College Scholarships Level: Postdoctoral
Scholarship Provider: University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis and CNRS
Scholarships can be taken at: France

Eligibility: Candidates should have a strong desire to carry out interdisciplinary research combining mathematical and computational modelling with connections between computer science and computational neuroscience.

College Students Scholarships for International Students: No

College Scholarships Description: European exchange information through electric impulses called spikes. These spikes (or their absence) are the symbols used to represent the information in the nervous system and they appear very early in the visual stream since they appear at the retina level. Much research is now focused on understanding this neural code for several reasons. Of course, one hopes to better understand what makes the visual system so powerful, but there is also the possibility to use the properties of the neural code for new applications such as proposing novel bio-inspired methods to process images.
